Name’s Jakeel Johnson. A designer living in the suburbs of the Chicagoland area.

I make designs for brands, I dig into the why behind the design, and then I do the designing, it’s easier said than done, but it’s a lot of fun and I love that challenge of being able to give a reasoning and inspiration behind a design!

I am from Oak Park, Illinois, but I’m willing to stay in my home state, but I’m always open to traveling and moving elsewhere. I’m always intrigued by being in a new place and being able to work with many different people!

My style of work is always gathering the idea behind a design. Trying to inform myself as much as possible, and giving life to an idea before going into the actual design. I want to give myself as much perspective and information behind an idea as possible, and always open to feedback get gain a new angle of perspective whenever I can.

I’m a huge nerd, especially when it comes to video games. I’ve been playing them since I was four, and they are a huge part of life, especially during my down time. I’m either busy yelling at friends to “Watch out!” while screaming in panic, or sometimes I enjoy playing a single player game where I can get lost into a in-depth story that’ll have me hooked for weeks.

I enjoy going to movies! Even if there are a few bad ones mixed in, I tend to enjoy the experience of being in a theater. I wouldn’t say I’m a movie buff, but I do enjoy films a lot! I enjoy all sorts of music, my top 3 genres fall to Rap, Alt Rock, that 3rd one can vary, but I love to jam out, and vibe to some tunes.

I always want to build on my progression as an artist, and be well rounded at my craft. Being able to adapt as creative is important. I hope you enjoy my work!
